K9-RSQ FAQs
Below you will find some helpful Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) relating to different aspects of what we do.
Fundraising and Donations
K9-RSQ are a team of South Yorkshire based volunteers. Our service is 100% free, we will NEVER ask you for a payment. If anyone ever calls you claiming to be from K9-RSQ and asks for money, it is a scam. Please hang up the phone and let us know.
See below for how we fund our 100% voluntary work…
We rely solely on kind donations from the public and money out of our own pockets. Much of our equipment including drones and surveillance cameras have been funded by our teams own money. Occasionally we will run small fundraisers, for example for dog food that is used to bait our humane traps.
We accept donations to:

At present, in view of our low annual turnover (under £5,000), we are not a registered charity. However, as of Monday 31st March 2025 we have an application submitted to the U.K. Charity Commission.
Our K9-RSQ Bank account and PayPal account that receives public donations are managed by three team members with full transparency to the core team of around 10 people.
We have regular meetings to discuss how any donations are spent.
Donations are only ever used to buy much needed equipment, such as; Surveillance Cameras, humane traps, dog food and other equipment directly related to our objectives of rescuing lost and/or missing dogs.
No team members take any payments from our donations.

See below for what information would really help us get off to a quick start…
The best possible information to have ready is:
- Name, sex and breed of your dog.
- If your dog is chipped and is the chip record up to date.
- If your dog has a collar, harness, lead attached.
- If your dog has your contact details on the collar.
- If your dog has any medical conditions that are urgent.
Also provide us with the following if possible:
- The dogs most familiar “home address” (normally your home)
- A good recent photo/s of your dog
- The “Lost Point” where your dog became separated from you.
- The last known (confirmed) sighting – a map “pin-drop” is ideal for this*
- The direction of travel, that is, the direction your dog was heading (if known)
*Pin-drops are very useful. You can create a screen-grab of a pin drop as follows:
- Open the “Maps” application on your phone
- Press the point on the map where you want to “drop a pin”
- Select the option to “Drop Pin”
- Take a screen-grab of the Map with the pin showing.
